The Uganda Prisons Service (UPS) proudly celebrates the successful completion of the prestigious one-year Senior Command and Staff Course by five of its senior officers at the Senior Command and Staff College, Bwebajja. The pass-out ceremony, held on 31st July 2025, was presided over by the Minister of State for Internal Affairs, Gen. David Muhoozi, and attended by the Commissioner General of Prisons, Can. Dr. Johnson Byabashaija, alongside the Inspector General of Police, Abbas Byakagaba.
The graduating officers, Ms. Aliyo Naatukunda, Commissioner of Prisons, Ms. Brenda Sana, Commissioner of Prisons, Mr. Jolly Robert Bamutura, Assistant Commissioner of Prisons, Mr. Arthur Mugaba, Senior Superintendent of Prisons and Mr. Ben Nicomedie Nyanzi Ahimbisibwe, Senior Superintendent of Prisons, were among the 41 participants, including 36 from the Uganda Police Force (UPF), who completed the rigorous program. The course, running from 30th August 2024 to 31st July 2025, is designed to enhance leadership, strategic thinking, and operational command skills for senior officers, equipping them to tackle modern security and correctional challenges
